Over 1,500 Get Fit at Chamber’s First 5K Corporate Challenge

When organizers began planning the event, there was concern about getting 200 citizens to participate. The First Annual Get Fit Stay Fit garnered the support of some 1,500 runners and Walkers. VISION 2030 supports creating a “culture of wellness in our community” and Get Fit, Stay Fit made great strides in efforts of creating a community aware of its health and more importantly, willing to take responsibility for its health. To the many businesses that sponsored employees and the individuals who participated, congratulations on making a difference in the health and welfare of your community. Donations for youth programs were made to Hall County Parks and Leisure and Gainesville Park and Recreation from the proceeds of the Corporate Challenge.

Thank You Sponsors: Consumers Life, Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine of The Longstreet Clinic, Gainesville Bank & Trust, ProTherapy, WellCare, Northeast Georgia Health Systems, Specially Clinics of Georgia, Turner, Wood & Smith Insurance, Riverside Military Academy.
