Northeast Georgia History Center to pay tribute to Zell Miller
GAINESVILLE, GA – The Northeast Georgia History Center will pay tribute to the Honorable Zell Miller, an influential former governor and U.S. senator, during a special luncheon on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
As both a two-term governor and a U.S. senator, Miller made an impact on the lives of every Georgian during his many years of service to the state. As governor, Miller instituted the HOPE Scholarship, the Victim’s Bill of Rights and Peachcare for Kids.
The tribute presentation will include a historical slide show of Miller’s life and personal reflections by his longtime friends Don Harp and Ed Jenkins. Miller will also address the guests and will sign copies of his books at the conclusion of the presentation.
The event will be held at the Gainesville Civic Center in Gainesville, Ga. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased at the Northeast Georgia History Center. Eight-person tables are also available for corporate guests.
Sponsorships are available with proceeds going to support the operations of the Northeast Georgia History Center. Sponsorships levels are: $5,000 for a signature sponsor; $2,500 for an event sponsor; and $1,000 for a corporate table.
