Greater Hall Chamber 2013-2014 Chair DIXIE TRUELOVE is a native of Hall County and a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Dixie is a second generation dairy farmer and operates Truelove Dairy, Inc. with her brother, Jerry. They were featured in a Georgia Trend magazine article about companies in business for over 50 years.

Dixie has served in several areas of the Greater Hall Chamber including Vice Chair of Government Affairs, Vice Chair of Community Development, and on the VISION 2030 Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Hall County, Leadership Georgia, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Leadership Georgia.

Within the community, Dixie serves on the boards of Quinlan Visual Art Center, Brenau University, and Northeast Georgia Health System Advisory Board. She is a past president of WomenSource and the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County and is a recipient of the Jaycees Young Woman of the Year Award. Dixie is married to Mike Smith, President and CEO of SteelCell of North America.

Chamber 2013-2014 Chairman-Elect DAVID LEE is a Senior Commercial/Industrial Marketing Representative for Jackson EMC. Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, David graduated from the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

David serves on the board of trustees for Rehabilitation Industries of North Georgia and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club and is currently the Chairperson of the Lanier Joint Development Authority. He is a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church where he is a past member of the Church Council and Staff/Parish Relations committees. David and his wife, Holli, live in Clermont with their three children.

President & CEO of the Chamber since 1998, KIT DUNLAP has spearheaded several multi-million dollar private business initiatives such as HALLmark, that has funded successful economic development, education and community programs, VISION 2030 and the Chamber building renovation in 2003 in Downtown Gainesville.

Kit’s leadership has guided the Chamber to solid ground with a membership base of 2,400 individuals and a professional staff of 12 people. A native of Jasper, Alabama and a Brenau College graduate, Kit is at the top of the industry among fellow Chamber executives and has a strong economic development background. She served on the Board of the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism (Georgia Department of Economic Development)for 10 years and as chairman for two years. She is a founding member of the Gainesville-Hall County Economic Development Council and served as the council’s first chairman in 1992.

She has served on the boards of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, SunTrust Bank Northeast Georgia and on the Board of Trustees at Brenau University. She is currently serving on the board of the Metro North Georgia Water Planning District and is a past chairman of the organization.
