Kubota, Barbe America announce expansions

Japanese-based Kubota Corporation announces yet another expansion with the location of Kubota National Distribution Center at Gainesville Industrial Park West.

Greater Hall Chamber officials and the Gainesville-Hall County community was proud to welcome Kubota executives from here and abroad at the facility opening in July.



The new company will employ 10 people and distribute products made by Kubota Tractor Corporation, located in Oakwood South Industrial Park, and Kubota Manufacturing, located in Gainesville Industrial Park North. Utility vehicles, backhoes, mowers, compact tractors and front-end loaders will be distributed to customers from this 200,000 square foot building. This will be Kubota¹s third location in Hall County to include:



€ Kubota Manufacturing of America, Gainesville Industrial Park North, was established in 1988. It is located on 15 acres and features two buildings with 616,000 square feet of manufacturing space and about 1,200 employees.



€ Kubota Tractor Corporation, Oakwood South Industrial Park, is the company’s first separate tractor and equipment assembly plant in the United States. The 175,000-square-foot center manufactures and assembles Kubota M-series utility tractors, loaders, backhoes and front-end loaders and has about 40 employees.



€ Kubota National Distribution Center, Gainesville Industrial Park West employs about 10 people.



“I think our business environment, that promotes economic growth, has made it easier for companies like Kubota to grow,” said William Bagwell, vice president of economic development for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.



“With increasing production demands and sales on the rise, our distribution capabilities must also escalate,” said Tetsuji “Mike” Tomita, KTC president. “By shifting the majority of this responsibility from KMA and establishing a national distribution center, it allows us to focus on continuing to provide superior service to our dealers and customers,” Tomita said.



Barbe America, Inc. manufactures anti-adhesives for rubber and plastic. This German-based company has been located at 4208 West White Road in Oakwood for 18 years. Barbe employs some 39 people in the 90,000 square foot building. Barbe America, Inc. recently purchased an additional two acres adjacent to their property.



The company is very active in the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce participating in such programs as Drugs Don¹t Work and the Human Resource Council.
