Donal Geaney, Chairman and CEO of Elan Corporation,and Jim Botkin, new Vice President and General Manager of the Gainesville Operations, recently announced the expansion of Elan’s biopharmaceutical production facility in Gainesville.
The expansion represents the initial phase of a master plan investment of some $40 million in the Gainesville facility over the next three to five years and will underscore Elan’s commitment to its employees and to the continued growth of its operations in Georgia.
The Gainesville plant employs 180 people – up 40% from year ago levels – and recently passed pre-approval inspection by the FDA to manufacture two new pharmaceutical products at the plant.
