Chamber Seeks Most Fit Company

As part of the VISION 2030 HealthSmart Community Challenge, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce is conducting a survey to seek the “Most Fit Company” in Gainesville-Hall County.

Judging criteria for the contest includes Wellness, Nutrition and Physical Activity that the company provides for its employees. The award is presented in three categories for large companies (251+ employees), medium (51-250 employees) and small (50 employees or less).

Company representatives may complete the Most Fit Company Survey online or drop by the Greater Hall Chamber office at 230 E.E. Butler Parkway in Gainesville to pick up a survey, or contact Jean McCullough at the Chamber, 770-532-6206. Email: jean@ghcc.com.  The deadline to submit a survey is September 30, 2011.

“The Chamber’s Healthcare Committee initiated this program to raise company wellness awareness and promote healthy workplaces in our community. We hope to recognize businesses that are encouraging employees to live a healthier life,” said Chamber Healthcare Committee Chairman Jack Chapman, M.D., Gainesville Eye Associates.

Recognition of the winner and award presentations will be take place at the HealthSmart Breakfast on October 12 at 7:30 a.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center. The breakfast will feature motivational health and fitness speaker Dave Hubbard, also known as America’s Fitness Coach®. Hubbard, an author and former NFL player, has been a health and fitness speaker for over 30 years. He has spoken to hundreds of Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies and specializes in helping people become healthier and more productive. Breakfast is $10 Chamber members; $15 Non-Members. The 5th Annual HealthSmart Wellness Expo on Wednesday, October 12 at the Georgia Mountains Center will feature an estimated 70 booth exhibits providing interactive wellness services. The event, free and open to the public, will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and focuses on community health and wellness and continues to be one of VISION 2030’s most successful initiatives. Dozens of services will be provided at the expo including FREE health screenings.
