Mainstreet Gainesville’s 6th Annual Upstairs Downtown Tour & Open House is November 16

Gainesville, GA-11/8/06: The Greater Hall Chamber’s Holiday Business After Hours and Main Street Gainesville’s 6th Annual Upstairs Downtown Tour & Holiday Open House is Thursday, November 16 from 5:15 – 8:15 p.m. on the Historic Downtown Gainesville Square. Downtown will come alive with Christmas lights and festive decorations. Live music and delicious food from Downtown Gainesville’s best restaurants will highlight the event. The tour is free and open to the public and will feature some of the great new restaurants and entertainment venues that opened or expanded this year.

TOUR: The tour begins on Bradford Street with registration at the new Rhythm & Brews, and MoJo’s Tex-Mex Grill and Big City Café will comprise a combined stop #1 on the tour. Stop #2 will be the Parisian quality Café ‘n Crepes in the next block of Bradford on the Square. Three stops (#3, 4 and 5) will be on Washington Street at the new Home Sweet Georgia bakery/café; Inside/Out Accents and Buckskin Fashion and Art. These stops will take you upstairs and back down. Stop #6 is Seabones Restaurant and the Princeton Salon and Spa. Both of these businesses have expanded into the lower level as you move from one to the other. The final stop will feature the exciting new businesses as well as food and music at the Main Street Market.

PRIZES: Tickets ($1 each) for a CASH PRIZE will be available along the tour. The cash prize estimate is $250, and the drawing will take place at 6:45 p.m. Do not have to be present to win! Registration for a drawing for a fabulous prize package will be available on the tour route as well.

FOOD: Delicious food along the tour – progressive dinner style – will be provided by MoJo’s, Rhythm & Brews, Big City Café, Café ‘n Crepes, Home Sweet Georgia, Seabones and The Bistro at the Boiler Room. Two drink tickets will be a part of the tour program redeemable on the tour.

FUN: Downtown shops will be open in Holiday style with treats and specials for you to stop in and browse along the way. Horse & Carriage rides will be available around the Square at no charge to magically transport you back in time! Santa will make his first appearance for the Holiday season along with his Santa Train ride for the kids chugging around the Square for only a dollar. Photos with Santa will be available on the ride. It’s a magical time in Downtown Gainesville. Don’t miss it!
