Chamber Announces AgriBusiness Award Recipients

Gainesville, GA – April 14, 2010: The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and the Hall County Extension Office’s Annual Agribusiness Recognition Awards Breakfast was held today and winners of the Annual Agribusiness Awards include:

Friend of Agribusiness: Will Schofield, Superintendent, Hall County Schools, for consistently promoting agribusiness and agriculture in Hall County.
Outstanding Agribusiness: King GREEN, for demonstrating significant presence and progress in agribusiness in this area.
Farmer of the Year: Paul Bowen, Bowen & Sons Farm, for making significant contributions to agribusiness and community services.
Ag Hall of Fame: Larry Nix, Big Oak Farm, in recognition of sustained contributions to Hall County agriculture and agribusiness.
Outstanding Community Service: Hall County Master Gardeners in recognition of continued volunteer service to the community in the areas of beautification, horticultural education and environmental awareness.

The breakfast was sponsored by Jackson EMC, the Awards Sponsor was MarJac Poultry, and additional sponsors included Ag Georgia Farm Credit, Candler Equipment, Crystal Farms, Hall County Farm Bureau, Hall County Soil Conservation District, Jaemor Farms.
