Annual Meeting and Gala is May 17 at Brenau University

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s 93rd Annual Meeting and Gala is scheduled for Thursday, May 17 at Brenau University.



Chamber members and guests gather in the University’s Pearce Auditorium for a brief business meeting and comments from featuring guest speaker Phil Jacobs, President, Georgia Operations of BellSouth.



A native of the Washington, D.C., Jacobs began his telephone career in 1973 as a marketing communications consultant. In 1983, Phil was named Operations Manager of Strategic Planning in the newly formed BellSouth Corporation, and over the years, held an assortment of management positions with the company. Jacobs was named President of BellSouth Business Systems in August 1993, responsible for the $4 billion multi-state large business services marketing unit. In early 1998, Jacobs returned to Atlanta where he was named President of BellSouth’s Georgia Operations. Phil is a member of the Governor’s Education Reform Study Commission, serving on the Programs Committee. Jacobs is the Honorary Chairman for the 2000 Empty Stocking Fund Campaign. He previously served on the Board of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.



Following Jacob’s comments, a volunteer recognition program will be held. A gourmet buffet will then be served on Brenau University’s lawn and in Yonah Hall.
