Georgia Developers to Tour Gainesville-Hall County
Gainesville, Georgia – Tuesday, September 1, 2009: The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will host 20 statewide developers this week representing the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Power Company’s business recruitment efforts. Georgia’s statewide economic developers provide a consulting role to new and expanding businesses from around the world. The project managers will be in Gainesville-Hall County on September 1 and 2. The Chamber’s Economic Development Council will provide an update about the community’s business assets to support new jobs and investment from manufacturing, distribution, office and headquarters.
“Our community’s economic development efforts are focused on existing industry expansions, new business recruitment and small business development,” said Tim Evans, Vice President, Economic Development, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. “These statewide developers support our community and recommend Gainesville-Hall County for new businesses. It is a great opportunity for us to have the time to update these statewide developers on the advantages of doing business in Gainesville-Hall County.”
Russell Vandiver, Lanier Technical College, and 2009-10 Chairman of the Economic Development Council said, “This is about jobs and investment. We are really grateful to Georgia Power and the Georgia Department of Economic Development for allowing us to update them on our community. They are partners in our efforts to retain and grow new jobs, and that’s a high priority for this community.”

We want show off the community to all the statewide project managers and earn their recommendation to prospective businesses.”
During the two-day tour, statewide project managers will hear important updates in Gainesville, Hall County, Flowery Branch, Oakwood and Lula. Some of the featured topics include an overview of area business parks, like the new Gainesville Business Park, and SPLOST-supported projects, directed toward the community’s VISION 2030 goals.
This is the third developers’ tour of Gainesville-Hall County in recent years and the first time the statewide developers have selected Gainesville as their overnight stop.
