ZF Industries recycling program

Established in 1987, ZF Industries (ZFI) is located in Gainesville Industrial Park South. The Gainesville facility employs some 220 people in their 188,000 square foot facility. ZFI Gainesville manufactures manual transmissions for Ford light duty trucks; axles and transmissions for OFF highway equipment for various customers worldwide, such as John Deere, JLG, Tata; and is in the start up phase for producing axle drives for Mercedes. The new Mercedes line represents a $17 million equipment investment and at full production will produce one axle drive every 33 seconds.

Recently Mike Mastrino, North American Environmental Protection Representative, and Larry Adams, Facilities and Environmental Protection Officer, led a tour through the facility for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce¹s Environmental Management Committee. An overview of the facilities recycling program was reviewed and includes the recycling all cardboard and paper, plastic, aluminum turnings (machining operations), scrap steel, aluminum drink cans, batteries and toners/ink cartridges company-wide.
