Youth Apprentice Dinner – March 29

On March 29, 2005, the Hall County and Gainesville City School Systems will recognize their youth apprentices, interns and parents, as well as business partners and educators, at the Annual Youth Apprenticeship Dinner. The program will be held at the Gainesville Civic Center Ballroom from 6:00 ¬ 8:30 p.m.

The Youth Apprenticeship program is an educational option that prepares high school students for the world of work through a combination of academic and workplace learning. It is based on the belief that our youth must be better prepared for the future if they are to be successful in a competitive, global economy. Employers aid the apprentice¹s education by assessing performance, creating relevant curriculum, and developing occupational skill standards specific to business and industry.

The apprenticeship program also provides a direct link to higher education, with students attending a technical institute or college after the high school component of the apprenticeship. The sponsors for this event are Jackson EMC, Georgia Power Company, Northeast Georgia Medical Center & Health System, and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.
