There are more than 928,077 workers in the Gainesville-Hall County labor market area, which includes the active workforce of Hall County and nine adjoining counties. Our Georgia workforce development initiatives, including Work Based Learning, apprenticeships, talent recruitment and executive education, encourage a high level of education and skills training.<\/p>\n<h2>Work Based Learning<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Feature UHD\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N_-D-WIaR2g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Become a Work Based Learning Employer &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hallcowbl.org\/copy-of-assignments-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hall County School System<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/a\/gcssk12.net\/wbl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gainesville City School System<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Building a sustainable workforce for Gainesville-Hall County that possesses the skills needed by today\u2019s &#8211; and tomorrow&#8217;s &#8211; employers is of high priority. By collaborating with area employers, educators and business leaders to create new programs, market existing programs, remove barriers and influence perceptions, the Greater Hall Chamber&#8217;s Workforce Development Task Force influenced an increase from four manufacturers employing 16 high school students to 19 manufacturers employing 71 high school students. Since 29.0% of Hall County&#8217;s existing workforce is employed in goods producing, making sure our future workforce has access makes sense. We seek to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect employers to local future employees<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate communication to educational professionals<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate industry participation<\/li>\n<li>Communicate job options through programs and relationships<\/li>\n<li>Support and communicate state and federal initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Celebrate workforce development achievements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Apprenticeships<\/h2>\n<p>The ultimate goal is to develop a sustainable and skilled workforce for companies residing in Gainesville-Hall County. Our 2-year apprenticeship program seeks to do this by answering the skills gap, complexity and funding questions for the employer. Apprentices receive prescribed on-the-job training and further hands-on education resulting in a trained employee, a changed culture and advancement as a company. Additionally, there are more than 19,000 students enrolled in area colleges and universities with an additional 150,000 enrolled within an hour&#8217;s drive. In order to support companies&#8217; needs, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce hosts annual Job Fairs and has an online resource center for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghcc.com\/education\/workforce-development\/gainesville-hall-county-jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">available positions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Attracting Talent with a High Quality of Life<\/h2>\n<p>Quality of life and employment opportunities are cited by newcomers and employers as major benefits for relocating to the community. Residents can enjoy the Appalachian Mountains, Lake Lanier and Metropolitan Atlanta all within 30 minutes of Gainesville-Hall County, which has proven especially attractive to the younger workforce.
