Components of the Master Plan include a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oakwood2030.com\/Government-Town-Center.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Town Center<\/a>, commons and greenspace areas, parkway connectors, historic preservation and a transit station. The completion of the Thurmon Tanner Parkway extension is a major milestone creating a new entrance to downtown Oakwood and connecting it to Flowery Branch and the commercial center at Mundy Mill Road.
