Volunteer Spotlight: Denise Deal

Denise Deal is a Commercial and Industrial Marketing Representative at Jackson Electric Membership Corp. (JEMC) and has been with the company since 1998. Before joining JEMC, she was a lobbyist with the Atlanta Apartment Association covering state and local affairs. Prior to that she was a lobbyist for the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation. She made the move to Hall County from metro Atlanta seeking to live in a true “community,” and stated, “I love Gainesville-Hall County and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.”



Denise became involved in the Chamber immediately upon joining JEMC. “The experience of working with the Chamber staff and fellow Chamber members has been incredible,” said Deal. “I was welcomed into the community when I arrived, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work with such a professional and knowledgeable group. We (JEMC) value highly our involvement in the Chamber of Commerce and in the community.”



She serves on the Chamber’s Executive Committee as Vice Chairman of Government Affairs, is active in the Issues and Infrastructure Committees, is a member of the Gainesville and Hall County Economic Development Council, the Lake Lanier Technology Alliance, the Legislative Reception Committee, Hacker’s Holiday Committee, was Red Carpet Tour Co-Chair 2004, and is a Leadership Hall County and Leadership Georgia graduate.



Other community involvement includes Board Chairman of The Arts Council, immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, Gainesville College Trustee Board Member and Executive Committee Member, Brenau University President’s Advisory Board Member, UGA College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Board Member, Georgia AgriLeaders Forum Foundation Board Member, Northeast Georgia Health System Advisory Board Member, GH 96 Foundation, Northeast Georgia Board – March of Dimes and Co-Chair Walk America 2005 and finds the time to read to White Sulphur 1st Graders each week!



Denise has a BS in Agricultural Communications from UGA and a Masters from Brenau University. She is married to Jason Deal and has two children (almost 3), Fallin and Noah, and lives in Clermont.
