Upcoming program focuses on Healthcare issues for South Hall County

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will host a South Hall Lunch ‘n Learn at the Flowery Branch Depot on Tuesday, August 26. Focusing on healthcare issues, the function will include an informal box lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by a program with question and answer period from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Dr. Jack Chapman of Gainesville Eye Associates will facilitate discussion on physician services in the South Hall area. “Over 300 physicians with over 40 specialties are represented in the Greater Hall Medical Community,” said Dr. Chapman. “We hope this program will inform participants as to the scope of these services.”

Representatives from the Northeast Georgia Medical Center will review demographics and future facilities. “Following the announcement by local physicians and the Northeast Georgia Medical Center to develop a new medical campus in the Friendship Road area of South Hall, there have been numerous inquiries about the specifics of the plan,” said LeTrell Simpson, Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc.

“The Lunch ‘n Learn will provide information about physician services currently available in South Hall as well as details about the Medical Center’s plans for facilities on Friendship Road. Additionally, we continue to hear that citizens and businesses in the South Hall area are not familiar with some of the services provided in the greater Gainesville medical community. That information will also be provided.”

Longstreet Clinic Administrator Mimi Collins said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to share with the community expansion plans of both Northeast Georgia Medical Center and the physician community in the South Hall area. Hopefully, we will also have the opportunity to hear and learn from the South Hall business community with regard to what they believe are important health care issues – whether they be standards of quality, accessibility and schedules or availability of medical technology – related to the growing population in South Hall County.”

Human resource personnel, businesses in South Hall, government leaders and citizens are encouraged to attend the event. Chamber Chairman-Elect Rob Fowler of HRH Turner, Wood and Smith Insurance will serve as facilitator and moderator of the question and answer session concluding the event.

Cost for the August 26 Lunch ‘n Learn is $7 for members (includes box lunch) and $10 for non-members. Please make reservations by calling Karen Lobstein at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, 770-532-6206 or e-mail: karen@ghcc.com.
