Tree Sale to Establish a Tree Replacement Program

Gainesville, GA – 09/29/06: Keep Hall Beautiful and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee will hold a tree seedling sale this fall. The purpose of the tree sale is to raise funds to establish a local tree replacement program. Pre paid orders for seedlings are being taken now through October 25.

Tree seedling orders are taken by phone, in person at the Keep Hall Beautiful office at 604 Green Street, at the Keep Hall Beautiful booth at the Fall Garden Expo October 7 at Chicopee Ag Center, and at the Keep Hall Beautiful booth at Mule Camp Market October 13-15.

Billy Skaggs, County Extension Coordinator and grant project participant noted that the following trees are offered for sale: red oak, pin oak, red maple, sugar maple, eastern redbud, white flowering dogwood, shadblow serviceberry, black walnut, sweet crabapple, eastern white pine, Colorado blue spruce, and Virginia pine. The seedlings will range from 1 to 3 years old and up to 4 feet tall.

Orders will be available for pick up on Saturday, November 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hall County Recycling Center, 1008 Chestnut Street in Gainesville. Keep Hall Beautiful, 770-531-1102.
