Shop Hall This Season

Shop Hall This Season

By Chamber Chairman Darrell Snyder

There are many opportunities for you to support the Greater Hall area during the holiday season. First of all, you can ‘Buy Local’ to fill your shopping and holiday needs. How does this benefit you? As your dollars continue to be spent in the community, you have a direct impact on the economic prosperity of our local business merchants.

As businesses are able to grow and remain profitable in our area, you will be able to select from a wider variety of merchants when you are purchasing that special item. Continuing to invest in your local economy also helps to support local jobs and provide for a more stable economy. Many businesses also depend on each other for support to provide a product or service so your dollar spent locally can have a ripple effect throughout the local economy. Those dollars also provide sales tax revenues that help provide the necessary infrastructure to support local industries, retail development and residential development.

Another opportunity that you have to help your community is donating to a non-profit organization that helps to improve the lives of others. It is outstanding to see the care and compassion in the Greater Hall area. Many individuals and families are assisted through so many non-profit organizations each year. Unfortunately, every need cannot be met, but it is great to see a strong support network in so many areas. Investing a dollar in another person’s future can often make a greater difference than you could ever imagine.

Shop local, buy local, support our local business owners. Let’s continue to make the Gainesville-Hall County community a great place to live, work and play. Be sure to participate in the Chamber’s Buy Local Business Expo on Wednesday, January 26. Sponsorships and booth space is now available. Last year’s expo was a tremendous success, and we look forward to an even bigger crowd this year.

Have a great holiday season and a blessed new year. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Get involved with your community and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce today, and make a difference in the lives of others.
