SANTA SKIPS THE SLEIGH, FLIES IN BY HELICOPTER FOR STERLING ON THE LAKE’S WINTER BAZAAR

WHO:

Old Saint Nick is foregoing his sleigh and reindeer to arrive by helicopter when he comes to meet children of all ages at Sterling on the Lake on Dec. 8. Santa Claus will arrive at the Flowery Branch community via helicopter. He lands on the Village Green at 2:15 p.m., weather permitting, and heads to the clubhouse to hear what all the little children want for Christmas.

WHAT:

The helicopter Santa visit helps kick off Sterling on the Lake’s Winter Bazaar featuring entertainment, activities, shopping and fun for the whole family. Activities and entertainment include:

Tree Decorating Competition & Silent Auction — Christmas trees will be provided to decorating participants. All participants will provide their own decorations to create a unique and personalized tree. The trees will be judged by Father Fred, priest for Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Decorated Tree and the Highest Silent Auction Bid Tree. The trees will be auctioned off as part of a silent auction. Funds raised will help sponsor three families in need through the St. Vincent DePaul Society (Prince of Peace).

Shopping — Crafts and other items will be for sale.

Prince of Peace Choir will spread holiday cheer by performing Christmas carols.

Carriage rides will be offered around the community by appointment only for a small fee.

A cookie decorating station will be available for children of all ages.

Holiday Tour of Trees — Guests can also tour Sterling’s decorated model homes featuring their festive trees.
