Red Carpet tour visits Gainesville-Hall County in 2004

Touted as the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s flagship event and most successful economic development marketing initiative, The Red Carpet Tour will be coming to Gainesville-Hall County in April 2004. Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman of Economic Development Richard Hagler, president and owner of Barron & Brothers, Int’l, will chair the committee to coordinate the visit to Northeast Georgia.



Since 1988, guests who participated in the Red Carpet Tour have announced over $3 billion in new and expanded business investments and created over 22,500 new jobs in Georgia. The 45th Red Carpet Tour on April 7 – 10, 2004 will feature Metro Atlanta, Augusta and Gainesville-Hall County. Hall County industries that have been Red Carpet Tour participants include Elan Pharmaceutical, Wrigley’s, ATEX, StitchTech and Mugele of America.



Each year the Georgia Chamber of Commerce coordinates the week-long tour beginning on the Wednesday of the Master’s Golf Tournament week with an orientation and dinner at the Governor’s Mansion. Invitees include presidents, CEO’s and managers of industries seeking to relocate, open a new facility or expand existing operations in the state of Georgia.



The group is flown via a chartered Delta jet to Augusta on Thursday for the first round of the Master’s. Friday is community day featuring a select portion of the state. In 2004, Gainesville-Hall County and the Northeast Georgia area will be featured on Friday, April 9, 2004. The tour returns to Augusta on Saturday for the third round of golf.



Charles Tarbutton, Assistant Vice President of the Sandersville Railroad Company will be the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Chairman of the 2004 Red Carpet Tour State Host Committee.
