ProCare RX locates to Gainesville

PRX Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of ProCare Rx and principles Roger and Barbara Burgess, purchased 23 acres at the intersection of I-985 and Queen City Parkway for the development of a mixed use project.

The Burgess’ plan to establish executive offices and an operations center for ProCare Rx and other affiliated entities of the company.

Roger and Barbara Burgess founded ProCare Rx in 1988 in Atlanta as a family-owned healthcare information technology business.

The company offered services to healthcare benefit administrators and providers. In 1998, the company expanded services to offer full-service pharmacy benefit management, and today provides pharmacy claims processing, technical, clinical, mail order and other services and support for any organization that provides a prescription drug benefit to its employees or members.

Clients of ProCare Rx include self-insured businesses, unions, hospices, worker compensation plans, local and county governments, health maintenance organizations, and other insurance plans. With offices in 11 states, ProCare Rx is one of the largest, privately-held pharmacy benefit managers and administrators in the U.S., responsible for overseeing plans for more than nine million Americans.

“This is a great day for Hall County and its citizens,” said Hall County Commission Chairman Tom Oliver. “We are excited about this new partnership with ProCare Rx, its employees and especially Roger and Barbara Burgess. This is a targeted business for our community, and the entire process is evidence that a close partnership in our municipalities, Hall County and the business community can produce great results
