Pro Touch Landscaping Participates in Adopt A Park

Gainesville, GA – August 5, 2009: Pro Touch Landscape joined the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and is the most recent company participating in the Adopt A Park program. The company adopted a park/area on Riverside and Morningside Drive. The area was formerly maintained by a group of Master Gardeners in the late 70’s. Gainesville Parks and Recreation assisted the group by installing irrigation, benches and trash receptacles.

Zach Thompson of Pro Touch initially took over the area as part of an Earth Day Project. In April, Pro Touch came out with their crews and some 20 Riverside Military Academy Cadets and laid the sod and installed the shrubs and plants, a $4000 investment of plants and sod.

“We installed 10 pallets of Bermuda sod, various blooming ground covers including varieties of daylilies,” said Zach Thompson of Pro Touch Landscaping. “Most shrubs will bloom in the spring or fall and some will have fragrance such as the Tea Olives and Magnolias. Our objective is to eventually have an area that can be used as a nice place to pause while walking or exercising in the area adding benches and a brick paver patio for the focus of attention. We were proudly undertaking this project because it is a focal point when motorist enter our city from the North and a ‘Welcome to Gainesville.’ We are currently maintain the park on a weekly basis ensuring it will continue to serve our citizens for years to come.”

Adopt A Park is a partnership of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and Gainesville Parks and Recreation. The purpose of the program is to beautify parks in our community by enlisting local businesses to partner with landscapers to maintain areas of parks by planting and overseeing the site.

Companies currently participating in Adopt A Park include Coker Equipment, Friends of the Parks, Landscape Management Company, Mansfield Oil, New Leaf Landscaping, Pro Touch Landscaping, Regions Bank, Sunrise Landscaping, SunTrust Bank and Turner, Wood & Smith Insurance.
