Pattillo extends investment in Oakwood South Industrial Park

Pattillo Construction is expanding its investment in Oakwood South Industrial Park with the construction of a new 111,800 square foot industrial building, expandable to 236,000 square feet. Located on 20 acres, the building will feature rail access and close proximity to Interstate I-985. The building is expected to be ready for occupancy by the first quarter of 2008.

Earlier this year, Pattillo Construction’s 109,000 square foot speculative building was leased by TRW Kelsey-Hayes. Located in Oakwood South Industrial Park, TRW Kelsey-Hayes manufactures braking systems for the automotive industry and will employ 200 people and invest $25 million by year end.

“Existing industry is expanding and new companies are investing in Gainesville-Hall County because community leaders have helped create a business climate that leads to success,” said Larry Callahan, President of Pattillo Construction Company. “Since the mid 1980’s, we have been following the lead of the community and building quality industrial buildings in master planned industrial parks to help in expanding the industrial base of the community. Starting with the Gainesville South Park in the 1980’s followed by Oakwood South Park, our joint efforts with the Hall County leadership have attracted quality companies into the community. We are proud to play a part in that process and we plan to continue to help for years to come.”

Tim Evans, Vice President of Economic Development, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce stated, “Eighty percent of companies requiring new office and industrial locations consider existing space first, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Private investments to develop speculative office and industrial space are critical to our efforts to retain existing business expansions and to attract quality businesses to Gainesville-Hall County.”
