New Senior Leadership Program Launched

The Wisdom Project, one of the Greater Hall Chamber’s VISION 2030’s “15 Big Ideas”, kicked off on May 22 in a joint conference held by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and the Brenau University Center for Lifetime Study.

The new Senior Leadership Program hopes to recruit and prepare retired and semi-retired individuals over the age of 50 to share their wisdom, experiences, and talents in creative ways through action and advocacy on behalf of Hall County.  The fall session kicks off on August 24.

Meg Nivens, Executive Director of VISION 2030 said, “Gainesville-Hall County now has a Senior Leadership Program that is considered to be a national model. The community is utilizing the experience and expertise of the growing 50 and older population.”

Melissa Tymchuck, representing Northeast Georgia Health System, along with Bill Sanders, Jackson EMC, co-chair the Senior Leadership Program, and noted that program applications are available on the Vision 2030 website – vision2030.org. Participants are expected to attend seven sessions. Sessions are held the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month and run from 10AM to 4PM.
