Lake Lanier Technology Alliance
Meeting to Showcase Technology for the Lanier World Championship 2003
Gainesville, GA/9/25/02: The Lake Lanier Technology Alliance will hold a
General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2002 from 5:30 – 7:00
p.m. at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center, 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in
Gainesville.
The meeting’s program will showcasing the technology of the Lanier World
Championships 2003.
The Lake Lanier Olympic Center is implementing state of the art technology,
the best in the USA, before the world comes to Gainesville/Hall County in
September 2003. The presentation will feature the robotics and nitrogen
powered start system, the wireless internet system used for instant replay
and instant result times, and the television image relay. Speakers are Joe
Vinson, Technology Showcase; Bob Eikenberry, Ameristart; and Eddie Foust,
Lanier Canoe 2003, Communications and Technology Chair
The mission of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s Lake Lanier
Technology Alliance is to foster the growth of the technology industry and
its resources through the development, education and promotion of the region
and its technology professionals. Cost to attend the meeting is $3 per

Directions: From Atlanta go north on I85. Turn left onto I985 when it
starts. Exit I985 at exit 24 (This used to be exit 7) and follow the brown
Rowing / Kayak Center signs to the boathouse. (Turn left onto Jesse Jewell
Road from I985, Turn Right at the third light onto the Limestone Parkway,
Turn Right at the second light onto Clarks Bridge Road. Within two miles
you will come to Clarks Bridge over Lake Lanier. Immediately after the
bridge, Clarks Bridge Park is located on the Left. The Olympic Finish Tower
is located on the Right.)
