Job Fair Set for September 18

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Job Fair 2003 is September 18 from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center. The Chamber is sponsoring the event with the Georgia Department of Labor. Co-sponsors are Lanier Technical College and The Times. Some 30 companies will be represented with displays and information on job opportunities.

Two or three professional job search workshops will be held during the day with facilitators from the Training Division of the Georgia Department of Labor. Workshops topics include “Resume Writing” and “Salary Negotiations.”

“An ongoing series of job fairs are designed to assist people during this economic downturn in the job market,” said Mel Wages, employment and training consultant for the Georgia Department of Labor. “The Georgia Department of Labor’s priority is putting people to work and job fairs are a great way to do that.”

“The turn out for these events in the past has been excellent with approximately 1300-1500 job seekers attending,” said Robin Overby, Greater Hall Chamber vice president of membership. “If you are unemployed or looking for a career change, this Job Fair is the place to be.” Exhibit space is still available!
