The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Fall Job Fair 2004 is scheduled for Thursday, October 7 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center. The Chamber is sponsoring the event with the Georgia Department of Labor. Co-sponsors are Lanier Technical College and The Times. More than 30 companies will be represented with displays and information on job opportunities in our community.
Several professional job search workshops will be held during the day with facilitators from the Training Division of the Georgia Department of Labor. Workshops topics may include Resume Writing, Job Search Techniques, and How Best to Attend and Approach a Job Fair.
‘An ongoing series of job fairs are designed to assist people during this economic downturn in the job market,” said Mel Wages, employment and training consultant for the Georgia Department of Labor. “We coordinate these job fairs throughout the state of Georgia, and these type functions prove to be one of the best ways to find a job.”
“The turn out for these events in the past has been excellent with some 1500 job seekers attending,” said Robin Overby, Greater Hall Chamber Vice President of Membership Development. “If you are unemployed or looking for a career change, this Job Fair is the place to be.”
