HEALTHSMART 2008
The Second Annual HealthSmart Expo on October 8 will kick off with a lunch featuring Barbara Dooley as guest speaker at 11:30 a.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center. Barbara, wife of Vince Dooley, now retired, legendary football coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and Director of Athletics, has been making people laugh for years with her Southern tales of football, family and foolishness. Barbara is involved in many community projects, including a live morning talk show in the Athens area and a new television show “Talk of The Town.” She is also a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty. Cost is $15 per person, and reservations are required.
The HealthSmart EXPO follows the luncheon at the Georgia Mountains Center from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and will feature an estimated 75 exhibits providing interactive services. Focusing on Seniors, Children, Women, Men, and Company Wellness, the event continues VISION 2030 Community Wellness Program Initiatives.
Dozens of services and seminars will be provided at the HealthSmart Expo including blood pressure, diabetes and skin cancer screenings. No admission fee. Open to the public. Interactive booths and screenings include:
