Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Announces New Executive Committee and Elected Board Members

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce 2006-2007 officers and six newly elected Board members were introduced today at the April Board of Directors meeting. Officers will oversee the various divisions and program of work of the Greater Hall Chamber for the upcoming year and officially assume responsibilities at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Gala on May 18 at Brenau University.

Dan Carey, Regions Bank

Daniel M. Carey is the president of Regions Bank of Gainesville/ Hall County. Carey is a graduate of Georgia Southern University where he attained a BBA in Management/Finance in 1985. Carey also attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s graduate school of bank management. He is a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis club and a member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Amy, have two children, Brandon and Lauren.

Bob Charleston, Wrigley Manufacturing Company

Bob Charleston is Factory Manager of the Wrigley Manufacturing Plant in Flowery Branch. He moved to the area almost two years ago as he was selected to lead the Wrigley Team through all their recent growth activities. Bob earned a BS degree in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and an MBA from Kent State University. Following service in the United States Army (Armored Cavalry), including command during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Bob entered the manufacturing world and has progressed to positions of increasing responsibility with several Fortune 500 companies prior to joining Wrigley in 2004. Bob serves as a Board Member for the Hall County United Way and is a Gold Division Chairman of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s HALLMark Vision Campaign. Bob, his wife Laura, and their two children reside in Buford.

Broughton Cochran, Sunrise Homebuilders

Broughton Cochran is a long time builder, real estate developer and investor in the North Georgia area. He is owner and president of Sunrise Home Builders, Inc. as well as Cochran Properties, Inc. and has interests in other real estate development companies that have holdings throughout North Georgia. He has served in numerous governmental advisory positions related to future land use policies and development standards with both the City of Gainesville and Hall County. He is an active member of the Gainesville-Hall County Home Builders Association, having served on its board of directors for many years. He has also served in various positions with the Home Builders Association of Georgia and the National Association of Home Builders to include the Chairman of the National Rural Housing Council. He serves on various local committees related to housing issues and is on the board of directors of various originations related to housing. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in finance. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville. He and his wife Regina have two daughters and have called Gainesville home for almost thirty years.

Jim Gardner, Northeast Georgia Medical Center & Health System, Inc.

James E. Gardner, Jr. is president and chief executive officer of Northeast Georgia Health system, Inc., and all of the affiliated corporations of the Health System, including the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Gardner is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia where he completed his master’s degree in Health Administration. He also holds a BS in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Voluntary Hospitals of America-Georgia and serves on the organization’s finance committee. He is a board member of the Georgia Alliance of Not for Profit Hospitals, a member of the Georgia Hospitals of America, American Hospital Association and the American College of Health Care Executives. He is a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club. He and his wife, Judy, have three sons.

David Lee Jackson EMC

W. David Lee is a Senior Commercial and Industrial Marketing Representative for Jackson Electric Membership Corporation. Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, David attended the University of Georgia where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He is a Foundation Trustee for Gainesville State College and a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club. David is a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church where he serves as a member of the Church Council. He and his wife Holli live in Clermont, Georgia with their two children.

Dixie Truelove, Truelove Dairy, Inc.

Dixie Truelove is a third generation farmer in Hall County. She and her brother, Jerry, operate Truelove Dairy, Inc. in North Hall County. Dixie resides in Clermont with her husband, Mike Smith, who is an owner in Habersham SteelCells located in Cornelia. Dixie is currently serving on the Steering Committee of Vision 2030 and on the Board of Directors of Gainesville-Hall County Junior League. She also serves on Brenau University’s Board of Advisors and the Gainesville State College Foundation Trustee Board. Dixie has been named the Young Woman of the Year by the Gainesville Jaycees, is a graduate of Leadership Hall. She and Mike participated in Leadership Georgia in 2004 and served as Program Chairs in 2005.
