Main Street Gainesville Board of Directors recently celebrated Main Street Gainesville as the recipient of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Spring Business Beautification 2006 Award. The Downtown Gainesville Square is part of the Adopt-a-Park program, a project of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville Park and Recreation, and Hall County Park and Leisure Services.
The Greater Hall Chamber Beautification Committee’s Residential and Business Awards of Excellence promote attractive and well-maintained areas by publicly recognizing those who have made beautification efforts to property.
The chamber initiated the beautification program 12 years ago and various businesses have received the award including: Brenau University, Gainesville Civic Center, Wachovia Center, Princeton Salon, Cargill, Inc., City Plumbing & Electric Supply Company, Carroll Daniel Construction Company, Margaret’s Place, Northeast Georgia Auto Glass, Slack Auto Parts and America’s Home Place. Awards are presented in the fall and spring by the Beautification Committee and Chairman Rusty Ligon, Gainesville Planning Department.
As part of the Adopt-a-Park program, the Gainesville Square is adopted and maintained by Regions Bank, the City of Gainesville and Hall County.
