Greater Hall Chamber Announces $10,000 Award
The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce announces the new Soin Award of Innovation. Soin International, owner of Sundance Products in Gainesville-Hall County, has made a $10,000 contribution to establish the Soin Innovation Award to promote economic development in Gainesville-Hall County and to encourage the development of patented or patent pending products and services. Local sponsors include Georgia Power Company and Jackson EMC.
The Soin Innovation Award is designed to identify, honor and financially assist a company or entrepreneur in Gainesville-Hall County which is demonstrating innovative spirit through their product. This product must have the ability to sustain long-term growth for the applicant, increase local employment and assist in the creation of economic development prosperity within the region.
“Gainesville-Hall County has a great history of fostering innovative people, and we hope this award will encourage new ideas to develop into commercial successes,” said Tim Evans, Vice President Economic Development, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.
The winner of the $10,000 Soin Award for Innovation will be selected by a committee of local business and academic leaders along with Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board Members. Applicants must submit an application, a product/service description, a business plan, financial information and success measures. The top three applicants will then make presentations to the selection committee. Based on the presentations of the three applicants, a winner will then be selected.
The Soin Award for Innovation application deadline is February 10, 2009. Applications are available at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. An Awards Ceremony will be March 20, 2009.
