Georgia Mountain Food Bank is preparing for its annual Empty Bowl Lunch fundraiser planned for Thursday, September 13, 2012. The Empty Bowl Lunch is the organization’s signature fundraiser event.
For the price of only $25, guests are served a simple meal and will receive a hand-made bowl as a reminder of empty bowls and empty stomachs in North Georgia. A table may also be purchased for $200 which includes an acknowledgement sign for your business on the table and 8 tickets for the event. The money raised at this event supports the food bank’s programs throughout the year such as the Munch Bunch Program, Summer Lunch Program supplying 14,000 meals to school-age children and supplying food to 44 partner agencies.
Help us make this year’s 6th Annual Empty Bowl Lunch the biggest ever! Due to difficult economic times and recent droughts, the needs of our partner agencies are increasing. In 2011 over 1.4 million pounds of food were distributed in Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Lumpkin, and Union counties through the efforts of Georgia Mountain Food Bank.
