The 5th Annual HealthSmart Wellness Expo on Wednesday, October 12 at the Georgia Mountains Center will feature an estimated 70 booth exhibits providing interactive wellness services for the community.
The event, free and open to the public, focuses on community health and wellness and continues to be one of VISION 2030’s most successful initiatives. Dozens of services will be provided at the Expo including FREE health screenings. New activities this year include “Ask the Expert” sessions where those in the know will share information on “Top 10 Healthcare Apps” for your smart phone and information some of the latest fitness gadgets on the market.
“We are pleased to participate again this year in the HealthSmart Expo,” says Carol Burrell, President and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System. “Our booths will feature free screenings such as balance/falls risk assessments, sleep disorders screenings and screenings for peripheral arterial disease. We look forward to being a part of this great community event.”
A breakfast kicks off the event and will feature motivational health and fitness speaker Dave Hubbard, also known as America’s Fitness Coach®. In 2000, Dave patented his unique method of exercise. Dave’s books include “BAD CHUTE, Why most Americans fail with fitness” and “Fat to Fit in only 10 minutes a day.”
