Farm City Week Breakfast is November 19

The event is sponsored by Jackson EMC and will feature Guest Speaker Gary Black, President of the Georgia Agribusiness Council.

Since 1995, the Hall County Extension Service and the Greater Hall Chamber have coordinated the Farm City Week Breakfast in observance of National Farm City Week, the third week in November each year. During the week, local farmers, along with those working in agriculture and agribusiness, are honored to encourage the building of strong relationships between our rural and urban community and our city businesses and leaders. The purpose is to recognize these hard-working individuals and companies who help spur our economic prosperity and feed our country, state, country and the world.

Gary W. Black is President of the Georgia Agribusiness Council, Inc., the state’s trade association for the food and fiber industry. Gary works primarily in the legislative and regulatory arenas representing the interests of farmers and agricultural businesses. In addition to his public affairs responsibilities, Black manages FOODPAC, a research consortium for Georgia’s food processing industry and AgriTrust of Georgia, the Council’s self-funded workers compensation insurance program. He currently serves on Governor Sonny Perdue’s Rural Development Council and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle’s Agricultural Advisory Committee.

Breakfast reservations are required. Contact Becky Rogers at the Hall County Extension Service, 770-535-8293. Email: brogers@hallcounty.org
