Since 1995, the Hall County Extension Service and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce have coordinated the Farm City Week Breakfast in observance of National Farm City Week, the third week in November each year. During National Farm City Week, local farmers, along with those working in agriculture and agribusiness, are honored to encourage the building of strong relationships between our rural and urban community and our city businesses and leaders. We recognize these hard-working individuals and companies who help spur our economic prosperity and feed our county, state, country and the world.
Butch Miller of Flowery Branch was elected by the voters of Hall and Jackson counties to serve as the new State Senator from the 49th district in a special election in May 11. A business owner in Gainesville, Miller states that he will continue the tradition of being a senator with conservative North Georgia values. He has been named to the Senate Committees on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Economic Development, Natural Resources, Transportation and the Joint Immigration Study Committee.
Event sponsors are Jackson EMC, AgGeorgia Farm Credit, Cargill, Chandler Equipment, Community Bank & Trust, Crystal Farms, Hall County Farm Bureau, Hall County Soil & Water Conservation District, Jaemor Farms and Mar-Jac Poultry.
