EZ-Way Systems Receives SOIN Award for Innovation

The Greater Hall Chamber Soin Award for Innovation was presented on March 20 to EZ-Way Systems, a developing automation company. EZ-Way was chosen from 13 nominees for the award. Rajesh Soin, president and CEO of Ohio-based Soin International, presented the $10,000 award at a breakfast at the Lanier Technical College Manufacturing Development Center at the Featherbone Center in Gainesville. The event also celebrated of the one year anniversary of being named an “Entrepreneur Friendly Community” by the State of Georgia

EZ- Way will manufacture automation to more efficiently select merchandise for companies like Amazon. Daugherty said his firm hopes to have its product ready to market by early fall. “It is industrial automation for broken case picking,” Daugherty said. “A lot of people log on to order products; employees pick those items who literally push shopping carts around a giant warehouse to get each individual item; this completely automates that task and allows use of employees in a better manner.” EZ-Way Systems co-developer Brad Harris said the system was developed in the industry ‘incubator’ at Lanier Tech’s Manufacturing Development Center at Featherbone Communiversity in Gainesville.

The Soin Innovation Award is designed to identify and financially assist a local company demonstrating innovative spirit. Award finalists included Better Healthcare Products, Advanced Lighter Than Air Systems, Wake Up Outdoors and Universal Maintenance. Details, Brittany Holtzclaw, 770-532-6206. Email: brittany@ghcc.com
