Existing Industry Spotlight: Beaulieu of America

Beaulieu of America has been in Gainesville-Hall County manufacturing yarn for the carpet industry for over 35 years. Mike Chaffin, new Plant Manager, relocated from an Alabama location last year.

“Beaulieu Gainesville is a High Performance Workplace staffed with a workforce that consistently exceeds our company’s expectations,” said Chaffin. “They have made a tremendous impression on me in the short time I’ve been here. With the business climate we’re operating in Gainesville’s cost, quality, and safety performance has enabled it to thrive in the current economy. That’s in no small part due to the people who are Beaulieu Gainesville, and I’m very proud to be here with them.”

Gainesville is a yarn spinning operation and the primary product is manufactured from recycled polyester which is then sent to the Dalton, Georgia location to be tufted for carpet. This product makes the Gainesville operation an earth friendly manufacturer. Beaulieu, with in excess of one billion dollars in annual sales, is the number three carpet manufacturer in sales and is the only privately held company in the lineup.

With 36 plants across the country Beaulieu is headquartered in Dalton. Currently, the plant on Atlanta Highway has 370 employees producing 780,000 pounds of carpet yarn per week, and is the largest spun yarn facility in the company. The Gainesville location has consistently received the lowest cost, highest production and quality, and best safety ratings in all of the spun yarn division. In a time when this particular industry is feeling the crunch of the housing market, this Beaulieu location is hiring and producing at full capacity.
