Evans Named to Georgia Economic Developers Board

Gainesville,GA – January 7, 2011: Tim Evans, Vice President of Economic Development for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce was named to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Economic Developers Association at their annual conference, and he begins his term this week.

The Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) is a non-profit association of professionals dedicated to enhancing Georgia’s economic vitality. GEDA provides networking and professional development resources to its members and advocates public policies to support quality economic development and job creation throughout the state.

Evans also serves as Executive Director of the Gainesville-Hall Economic Development Council and as the staff for the Gainesville & Hall County Development Authority. He is responsible for managing business recruitment, expansions and retention efforts by marketing and representing Gainesville-Hall County to key business decision makers in the United States and internationally. He also oversees the retail development initiative for Gainesville-Hall County with the support of business leaders, real-estate professionals and elected officials.

Prior to his current position, Evans worked with the Georgia Department of Economic Development for 11 years and was involved in marketing, project management, export assistance and business recruitment for U.S. and international markets.

Evans is a native of Jefferson, Georgia and a graduate of Oglethorpe University with degrees in Economics and Political Studies. He has a Masters of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
