Chamber annual meeting and gala to feature Charles Brewer
GAINESVILLE, GA- May 16, 2002 will prove to be a great night in Hall County history as the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce celebrates its past successes and unfolds those yet to come at the 94th Annual Meeting & Gala. A night to remember, this event entitled “Uniting for Success” will be attended by over 500 Chamber members and guests. Charles Brewer, Chairman of Green Street Properties, LLC and founder of MindSpring Enterprises will be the guest speaker.
Charles Brewer is an experienced entrepreneur, most notably as the founder and CEO of MindSpring Enterprises. In 1994, Brewer created MindSpring, a homegrown company that, based on Brewer’s “core values,” grew to be one of the largest Internet service providers in the country. Consistently winning praise for having the highest quality of service and highest customer satisfaction in the industry, the company was acquired by EarthLink.
After stepping down as chairman of MindSpring, Brewer put his core values to work again in a new company. Atlanta-based Green Street Properties is a real estate development company dedicated to creating great places for people to live, work and play. The company focuses on creating beautiful, walkable, exciting urban environments and are committed to the principles of new urbanism and smark growth. In addition, Brewer serves as Chairman of Midtown Transportation Solutions, and serves on the Board of Directors of Humana, Inc., the Board of Directors of the Midtown (Atlanta) Alliance, the Board of Directors of The Commerce Club, the Board of Directors of the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and the Board of Councilors of the Carter Center. He was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky.
By invitation of the Board of Directors of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Doug Carter, Chairman-Elect Dick Valentine and President/CEO Kit Dunlap, guests will attend for a very special night of recognition and accomplishment as the Chamber announces the 2001-02 Small Business of the Year, the distinguished Silver Shovel Winners and the prestigious President’s Award recipient. A special added bonus is an outdoor champagne reception and dinner to follow the program on the front lawn of Brenau University.
The 94th Annual Dinner Meeting will be held at Pearce Auditorium at Brenau University at 7:30 p.m. The reception and dinner follows the program to be held at 8:30 p.m. Black Tie optional. Tickets, $75 per person
