Big Creek Foods, Hall County’s newest food processor, recently held a a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the facility in Gainesville. Established by Jeff and Tommy Gay this year, Big Creek Foods creates customized, turnkey pet treats that take their clients’ brands to new destinations in healthfulness, innovation and flavor. The family-owned 20,000 square foot facility in Gainesville, Georgia is capable of producing, packaging and distributing a broad range of pet treats, carefully formulated by an in-house nutritionist.

Starting up with 25 employees, they expect to more double within three years.The company will manufacture and distribute premium pet treats using food safety standards only found in human food production. Hiring has already begun, and the company plans to double the number of jobs within three years.

Big Creek Foods is a family-owned business with over 25 years of experience in food grade products as well as ingredients for pet foods.  The company plans to utilize a wide variety of ingredients including chicken sourced locally in North Georgia.  There are currently eight pet food manufacturing facilities that operate in the state, employing 636 Georgians.
