•An endowment fund, named in memory of local physician Dr. Hart Joiner, has been established by the Gainesville Rotary Club. Joiner was club president in 1952-53 and was a doctor at Riverside Military Academy for more than a half-century. He is remembered as one of the area’s last “house-call” doctors and contributed to the formation of the Georgia Rotary Student Program, an international study

• Johnny Eubanks was named director of building services for Lanier Village Estates, a senior resort in Gainesville. Located on 86 acres, the resort includes a clubhouse, 152 apartment homes and 23 carriage homes. The pre-marketing effort for the community’s phase two development has begun and will include 150 apartment homes and eight carriage houses.

• Lana Nix has been named president of SunTrust Bank Gainesville and succeeds Martha Simmons.
