Hans Rueffert, owner and chef of the Woodbridge Inn in Jasper, GA is HealthSmart’s featured guest. Known as The Chef Without a Stomach, Hans just finished participating in the first season of The Next Food Network Star in 2005 when diagnosed with stomach cancer. With only 2% chance of survival, Hans began a journey of surgeries and treatments writing cookbooks on healthy eating. He frequently teaches cooking classes at the Piedmont Cancer Wellness Center and works with the Gastic Cancer Fund to mentor people with stomach cancer through their disease. His passion for health has led him to reach into his German heritage for a new life motto: Gesundheit, German for ‘good health’.
