An increasingly affluent business hub. The county seat of Hall County is Gainesville. Widely recognized as the trade, medical, educational, industrial, retail, cultural, and recreational center of Northeast Georgia. Gainesville and Hall County became an MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) in 2004. The Gainesville-Hall County Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) was the 4th fastest growing MSA in the U.S. The population of Gainesville-Hall County is estimated at 200,000. The daytime population in the county seat, Gainesville, exceeds 100,000 people.

Technology equals Progress. Recruiting a variety of technology businesses and industries is a major focal point of the HALLmark Vision, a four year economic and community development plan. Biotech companies, telecommunications, technology manufacturers, software developers, and tech support industries are at the top of the list of new businesses being encouraged to relocate to Hall County.

Manufacturing remains strong here and many allied industries locate in Gainesville-Hall County to manufacture and distribute related products throughout Georgia, the nation and across the world. Hall County generates more than $720 million in poultry related products and leads the state in diversified farm production. Manufacturing remains strong in automotive supplies, plastics and consumer goods processing.

Businesses and industries make long-term investments in Gainesville-Hall County because of its stability, skilled workforce, visionary leadership, and quality of life. New industry locations and expansions have generated 1300 new jobs and nearly $314 million in capital investments (July 2006-January 2008).
